Should we post photographs and videos of bad behaviour on the internet?
In my opinion, we should not post photographs and videos of bad behaviour on the internet especially without the permission of the person being filmed of.
Try putting into the shoes of the person whose photographs or videos is being taken. I am sure that you will feel very insulted as this is considered as an invasion of privacy. What people hates the most is when one is disturbing the privacy of another person. For example, the photo taken was of you biting your own fingernails which might be your habit. However when it is posted on the internet, those who might not understand might start to insult you and even describe you as a dirty person. Hence that picture can be misinterpret by people who do not know that it is just a habit of yours. Futhermore, it can affect the person badly as that person might not even dare to show his or her face to the family and friends which means that it can be considered as bullying. Thus we should refrain ourselves from posting photographs and videos of bad behaviour on the internet.
Despite that, I do believe that if a person's bad behaviour is being shown on the internet, that person will definitely learn his lesson by not repeating the same mistake. These will help people to think of the consequences of their actions when they are in public. For example, they will give up their seats to elderly. Furthermore these photographs or videos might not be taken with the intention of humiliating them, it might be taken to point out what a person needs to do and what they should not do in the public. We can also show how the society in Singapore is like in terms of respectable behaviour.
In conclusion, it is wrong to put up pictures or videos of bad behaviour. However with the right intention and permission, the photographs or videos can be posted.
